Why Faking in Personality Quiz?
As far as personality quiz requires getting unique or individual answers from each respondent, it could be a problem to figure out whether these answers are true in deed. Scientists have conducted a series of experiments based on respondent faking exposure. They asked a group of respondents to distort their answers. As a result psychologists couldn’t catch even 20 percent of them lying. Statistics and life experience prove that almost every person is capable of faking responses.
The most striking examples show up when it comes to the pre-employment personality quiz. A person who wants to get the job more than anything will go for any tricks and even lie.
Several strategies have been adopted for reducing respondent faking. One of them and the most effective one is the strategy of providing a warning that detection of lie will result in negative consequences for the respondent (e.g., not being considered for the job).
There is one logical reason to be honest in your responses for personality quiz: you can save yourself from accepting a job that you would probably have ended up hating and leaving after a short while (if it’s about pre-employment quiz), or from looking for an ideal date that doesn’t suit you at all (in case of dating/matchmaking quizzes).
